Which serum is right for you?

Which serum is right for you?

What is a serum?

A staple in many people’s skincare regimes, serums are known for their lightweight textures, being intense, targeted treatments that penetrate the skin at a deeper level. You can choose your serum depending on your particular skin type or condition (e.g. fine lines, blemishes, pigmentation or wrinkles). Even if you have ‘normal’ skin, you should still be using a serum rich in antioxidants, to help repair and protect it from daily pollution and sun exposure.

When should I use a serum?

Unless it contains retinol (which should normally be used just at night), a serum should be used morning and evening after cleansing and applying a toner/essence – and before your moisturiser and SPF to boost the efficacy of the latter two. Using your serum regularly over the course of several weeks and you’ll really start to see a difference in your skin.

How do I choose the right serum for me?

With the many serums on the market, it can sometimes be confusing to know which one is your perfect partner. 111SKIN have done the hard work for you and separated our serums according to skin concern. Read on to find out which serum is right for you …

Which is the best serum for fine lines and wrinkles?

The Celestial Black Diamond Serum is our hero anti-ageing serum, brimming with clinical-grade actives to target the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by keeping the skin plumped and hydrated. The inclusion of black diamond particles helps the active ingredients penetrate deeply into the skin for even more rapid results. And if dullness is an issue, liquorice root helps reveal a brighter, even complexion by reducing pigmentation, while quebracho wood, a soothing botanical extract, eases any redness and irritation with its anti-allergenic effects.

Which is the best serum for normal skin (or preventing premature ageing)?

Our flagship product, Repair Serum NAC Y²™ was initially created by Dr Yannis to use on patients in his Harley St clinic to help their skin heal post-surgery. He realised the effect it had on improving skin health in general and decided to make it available to everyone – hence the creation of 111SKIN. This serum is infused with founder Dr Yannis's enhanced signature reparative complex NAC Y²™ which stimulates the production of glutathione – a super antioxidant which, together with Vitamin C and Escin works to protect and repair skin cells from environmental damage. It also supports healthy collagen production and boosting elasticity to help future-proof the skin, making it a great product for anyone embarking on their first anti-ageing regime.

Which serum is best for pigmentation and uneven skin tone?

The Celestial Black Diamond Retinol Oil contains 1% retinol – a hero ingredient you may have heard of. A powerful form of Vitamin A, it speeds up cell-turnover to refine skin texture and speed up cell renewal. Retinol can be harsh on the skin though, and needs to be administered properly, which is why Dr Yannis has suspended it in his unique blend of calming oils to minimise any dryness or irritation. Used in the evening, it’s the perfect way to combat sun spots, hyperpigmentation and post-acne scarring.
