Whether you’re a bride-to-be longing for an effortlessly-aisle-ready complexion, or you want your skin to look its best for a special occasion, our six-week guide to event-ready skin will help you achieve just that.

Approved by our renowned aestheticians, including 111SKIN’s Global Head of Aesthetics Milena Naydenov, this comprehensive guide will ensure your complexion is flawless and camera-ready in time for your big event. Pens at the ready…

PHASE ONE: Six weeks beforehand...

Like most things in life, good skin takes time. That’s why we recommend beginning your skin prep six weeks before your big event. This is the time to focus skin concerns that take a little longer to treat such as evening out your skin tone, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, and improving texture.

“Cell turnover happens over the course of a 28-31-day period, so you’ll need at least that to achieve significant changes in the above areas. Giving your skin six weeks to respond to products and treatments allows time for the best results,” explains Milena.

“Exfoliation is vital at this stage in order to stimulate and accelerate cell turnover. Products rich in Peptides and Vitamin C are also a must-have as they help minimise wrinkles and pigmentation.”

1. 111SKIN’S Intensive Collection is perfect for this phase. We recommend cleansing skin morning and evening with our Vitamin C Brightening Cleanser before applying the Celestial Black Diamond Essence and Vitamin C Brightening Booster to help combat pigmentation.

2. Follow with the Repair Serum NAC Y2TM, our signature product that’s formulated to restore healthy skin, promote glow, and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Lock it all in with the Black Diamond Cream or Black Diamond Emulsion – the latter is ideal for oilier complexions or warmer weather.

3. Supplement this daily routine with the Rose Quartz Exfoliating Face Mask 2-3 times per week, and Celestial Black Diamond Face, Neck and Eye Masks every other day. This is also the perfect time to start using the Black Diamond Retinol Oil – just be sure to follow the recommended usage and always use SPF the morning after application.

PHASE TWO: Four weeks beforehand...

Sloughing away dead skin and encouraging cell turnover is thirsty work for your skin. In order to achieve a healthy, natural glow it’s important to use complexion-quenching products that both boost and maintain hydration levelsThat means using actives that fortify your skin barrier as well as those which increase water content in the skin.

111SKIN products combine powerful humectants, such as Hyaluronic Acid and Urea, with barrier-fortifying actives like Ectoin and NAC Y2TM.

“Now is the time to use products that are formulated to increase hydration such as the Hyaluronic Acid Aqua Booster and Y Theorem Bio Cellulose Facial Mask. At this stage, you must be using the Repair Serum NAC Y2TM twice a day for ultimate hydration and repair,” Milena explains.

She adds: “If you’ve noticed your skin is irritated by Retinol, replace it with a selection of our concentrates. We recommend alternating between The Radiance Concentrate and The Firming Concentrate on rotation for a month. Use The Radiance Concentrate on weeks one and three and The Firming Concentrate on weeks two and four.”

PHASE THREE: Two weeks beforehand...

The clock is ticking and your big day is fast approaching. All the excitement may leave you feeling restless, but it’s more important than ever that you get your eight hours as your skin repairs and regenerates while you snooze. Plus, not getting enough sleep can trigger increased levels of cortisol which can lead to inflammation and a breakdown in proteins that keep your skin looking fresh and illuminated.

If you find that your skin tends to breakout at the most inconvenient times, worry not – our Anti Blemish Booster is great for targeting imperfections. As well as reducing the appearance of spots, it helps prevent future blemishes and reduces the appearance post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Milena also suggests using the Rose Gold Brightening Facial Treatment Mask the day before your big day to impart a “lit-from-within glow.”

PHASE FOUR: On the day..

Whether you’re waking up to wedding bells, or counting down the hours to an important event, nothing beats the feeling of waking up with clear, glowing, healthy-looking skin on the day of a special occasion. If you follow the steps above, you can be pretty sure that’s exactly what will happen. Now that the big day is here, it’s time to add the finishing touches...

“On the day of the event, use our Cryo De-Puffing Facial Mask on top of the Rose Gold Illuminating Eye MaskThis combination helps to sculpt and invigorate tired skin while brightening under-eyes,” explains Milena. “You can also apply the Rose Gold Radiance Booster to your cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and tip of your nose to illuminate the high points of your face. Or, mix it in with your foundation to achieve an all-over glow.”

For a camera-worthy finish from head-to-toe, massage a generous amount of the Rose Gold Radiance Body Oil into skin. It adds a subtle lustre while Goldella and Damask Rose Extract help to illuminate, smooth, and nourish skin.
