The Top Skincare Ingredients For Brightening The Skin

Dull, drab skin is a common complaint, so often we search out skincare which will help us create a radiant, luminous complexion. Brightening ingredients are sometime grouped in the same catergory as whitening ingredients, which makes some people feel nervous about using them. However the ingredients we have listed below will help improve the appearance of pigmentation, and promote a more even skin tone, rather than create a snow white complexion – which traditional whitening products were used for.

Arbutin
Arbutin is found naturally in pears, wheat and the leaves of some fruit bushes and is derives entirely from natural sources – most commonly the Bearberry plant. It works by inhibiting the enzyme tryosinase, which is responsible for producing melanin, the pigment which gives skin it’s colour. It has become the preferred skin whitening ingredients for companies wishing to avoid harsh chemicals and is considering extremely safe. Skin products containing arbutin can still pack a powerful punch and help improve the appearance of pigmentation caused by sun damage, ageing and hormonal imbalances.

Kopcinol
An effective skin lightener, which also helps to even tone in normal skin. Like arbutin, Kopcinol inhibits the production of tryosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production. It is safe to use and penetrates the skin quickly and deeply. It is effective for normal skin, as well as hyperpigmented skin and for the condition melisma. You can find Kopcinol in our Space Brightening Booster, where it helps to fade dark spots and prevent the formation of melanin.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a super antioxidant which is needed for a strong immune system, radiant skin and helps blemishes heal properly. Ascorbic acid is the most potent form of Vitamin C and it helps promote collagen production. When used in skincare it promotes a more even toned complexion, and skin becomes stronger and healthier.

Glutathione
Glutathione is the most powerful antioxidant and detoxifying agent in the body. It is produced by the body to fight free radicals, highly unstable molecules which attack healthy cells in the body and accelerate the ageing process. We use Glutathione in our Space Brightening Booster to protect cells against future pigmentation, rather than for an immediate brightening effect.
