We're nearly halfway through January, but somehow the weather just seems to be getting colder and more miserable. No doubt many of us are already looking forward to summer and dreaming about holidays away on a gorgeous, hot beach, but just because the weather is dull it doesn't mean your skin has to be as well.
During the winter the skin often becomes dull, dry and flaky. One of the reasons for this is because the drop in temperatures leads to a drop in humidity which dries up the natural oils in the skin, causing it to lose its moisture. Bitter winds can also lead to skin becoming chapped, red and sore, that may be tight and uncomfortable. To remedy the cold outdoors weather we often crank up the indoor heat, but this makes the skin even worse and doubles the dryness. However there's no reason to despair, with the right routine and the right skincare products you can get rid of dry, flaky skin and achieve a glowing, radiant complexion.

1. Think about switching up your routine
You may find that products that have worked all year round for you, suddenly disagree with your skin once winter hits. If your skin feels itchy and dry during the winter then consider switching your usual skincare products for sensitive, non-scented versions.
2. Look for a moisturiser that contains humectants
Humectants are a class of substances which draw moisture into the skin, and help to retain it in the dermis. Some examples include glycerine, alpha-hydroxy acids and hyaluronic acid. The Space Anti-Age Night Renewal Cream is formulated with alpha-hydroxy acids to replenish and retexture the skin, and the ultra-hydrating formula improves skin and helps diminish fine lines.
3. Apply sunscreen
In the winter, when the sun is barely seen, you may think you don't need sunscreen but that's not true. Even when it's cloudy, UV rays can still penetrate and damage the skin. The sun is responsible for 80-90% of premature ageing so make sure to apply the Aqua Physics Defence Cream every day, it contains a mineral UV filter to instantly protect skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays.
4. Exfoliate regularly
When your skin becomes dry and dehydrated, it can lead to a build-up of dead skin cells which causes your complexion to look dull and lack-lustre. To combat this make sure you regularly exfoliate with the Lift Off Exfoliating Cleanser. It's formulated with three deep-cleansing, non-irritating acids - lactic, tartaric and papaya enzyme - which gently slough off dead skin cells, revealing radiant, luminous skin. Getting rid of the build-up of dead skin cells also allows serums and moisturisers to penetrate more deeply, ensuring your skin gets the full benefit of all the active ingredients.
