Best dressed: Cannes 2016
For the 69th time, stars have descended into Cannes for the annual Film Festival. From arrivals, to red carpet appearances. This our run down of the best dressed celebrities and the need-to-be-seen guests.
A regular on our best dressed lists, the youngest Hadid sister is really making a name for herself in the fashion game. When she arrived in Cannes on the 9th May, she was nailing the airport chic trend. With a pair of high waisted track pants and a Nike crop top, Bella showed off her incredibly toned mid-drift. But in traditional Bella fashion, she glammed up the outfit with a frilly undershirt, peeking out from her barley there t-shirt; it added a girly, glamourous edge to the otherwise comfortable ensemble.
Rocking up to the Jury Dinner on the 10th May in a nude silky number, Kirsten looked effortlessly chic. The dress was adorned with pearls, adding shape, definition and detail; saving her from the dread ‘night-gown’ look. A black clutch and silver sandals added a modern twist to the outfit and her peachy pink lipstick was a great feminine touch, tying the whole ensemble together effortlessly.
Ever the power-dresser, Beckham took the red carpet like a seasoned pro. For the Café Society premiere and Opening Ceremony of the event, she donned an incredibly black jumpsuit, striking power poses on the red carpet. The loose fit of the trouser added a more masculine edge, something we rarely see from ‘posh spice’; and her make-up was all created using the EsteeLauderxVictoriaBeckham line, smoky, sultry and glamourous.
We very rarely see Anna Kendrick dolled up to the nines, so when she attended the Opening Ceremony with friends Justin Timberlake, it was great to see her go all-out glamour. The floor length bright yellow gown was the perfect mix between old Hollywood glamour, and the usual Anna Kendrick spirit and youthfulness. With her hair tumbling to one side she paid homage to the great and the good that have walked that red carpet in Cannes before her.
