HYDRATION VS MOISTURE

They sound the same, but they are vastly different.

Hydration vs Moisture

They sound the same, but they are vastly different.

HYDRATING:

When we consider the term hydrating it is important to clarify how we use the term, when hydrating the skin, we are focused on drawing water to the skin. In other words, hydration is synonymously linked to Humectants, what this means is that they hydrate the complexion by drawing water from a product or the environment that your skin finds itself in.

Examples:

Great examples of a hydrating products often sit with Essences, Toners or Water-based Serums. The Antioxidant Energising Essence offers a lightweight, water-like texture that enriches the skin with NAC Y²™ and a botanical blend to re-introduce hydration back into the skin after cleansing. The results? Immediate hydration and revitalisation.

MOISTURISING:

How we would focus and understand the term moisturising is if the product or ingredient is an occlusive, meaning it seals in the water and helps support and strengthen the skin’s barrier functions.

Examples:

A moisturising product is often in the place of a face oil, cream or emollient serum. Our moisturisers are blended with unique complexes such as NAC Y²™, Liquorice Root and Ribose to encourage energy, strengthen your skin’s epidermal layer and seal in any hydration that the skin naturally draws in.
