Many of us lead busy and stressful lives, so it’s good to try and set some time aside for yourself each week and relax. When it comes to getting great skin, stress is the number one enemy. Not only does it make skin more reactive and sensitive, but it also makes it harder for current skin problems to heal and can exacerbate conditions like acne, psoriasis and eczema. One of the best things you can do to relax is to have a pamper evening. You don’t have to one on a regular basis, but setting aside an evening after a really stressful day could really help you to unwind. Plus it’s also a great way to either prep skin for a party – or to perk it up after a late night of dancing and drinking. Here’ what you’ll need for a luxurious pamper night.

Create The Right Environment
You can’t expect to feel relaxed if there are too many distractions. If your phone is going off every five minutes with a new text or notification then it’s only going to irritate you and prevent you from relaxing, so try turning it off or at least putting it on silent in another room. Instead try listening to a playlist of calming music, this will be different for everyone from acoustic to classical so find the right music for you. Finally we think candles help create the perfect atmosphere for a luxurious pamper night so turn down the light, and instead light a few of your candle and tealights to give the room a soothing glow.

Run A Warm Bubble Bath
No pamper night would be complete with a bubble bath, so grab all your favourite products and start creating one. Make sure the temperature isn’t too hot though, otherwise it could damage your skin and dry it out. There are lots of products you can add to your bath to make it more relaxing, bath salts, bubble bath and bath bombs are all popular choices but essential oils are also a great addition. Lavender, patchouli and bergamot essential oil all help to relieve anxiety, whilst rose or jasmine oils are good to add if you’re suffering with muscle pain. Then return to longer, upwards strokes on your arms.
